At Happy Charity, we know that despite everything going on in life, there is always something good or someone thing to be grateful for. We help people see that Silver Lining and offer hope to those that are hurting with a helping hand, a smile, edutainment our Global Happiness Leadership Academy, or just a kind gesture. Global Happiness Day began in Sydney Australia on 05/05/05 by author Dr. Shelley Sykes, nicknamed the Happiness Guru founder of this Global Happy Charity. Each year since May 5th, 2005, the number of Happiness Ambassadors have grown spreading the Happy Bug in 219 countries.
By helping others in need we realize there are always individuals far worse off than our selves. We help people focus on what is right in their life, right now & teach them how to cope with stress & find their joy, boost self-esteem so they are empowered enough, to find their own passion & purpose.
We are a 501(3)c Non-Profit Charitable Organization EIN: 45-5539399
Happy Charity began in 2004 & the first Global Happiness Day was celebrated in 2005.
As the mother of a special needs child with Cerebral Palsy, Dr. Shelley Shelley has been helping hospitals & other children’s charities since the birth of her special-needs son. He was born blind, diagnosed with brain damage & told he would never see or walk. Shelley & son Rory Callum have gone through all sorts of trials and tribulations, yet despite this, they have been inspired to help others through sheer persistence & a belief anything is possible.
Rory Callum can now see & walk even though he still suffers from Cerebral Palsy. Shelley wrote a best-selling book ‘Callum’s Cure‘ to help other mothers with special needs children so that their children can achieve the seemingly impossible! In 2009 Shelley received an honorary Doctorate for her papers on Mental Health, Happiness & Productivity. She was also nominated for Australian of the Year 2009 for her charitable work. In 2012 Dr. Shelley Sykes received the Susan B. Anthony Award in the United States for her charity work.
100% OF FUNDS
One of the biggest issues with charities is that so much money is wasted on running costs, so Shelley decided that 100% funds raised, would be given to charitable causes & that the HappyCharity.org would rely on volunteers & sponsors to help Make a Difference in their own unique ways.
HappyCharity.org focuses on Empowerment with its Global Happiness Leadership Academy & Edu-tainment by Spreading the Happiness Bug for both the contributors as well as those receiving help. It’s a public charity 501(3)c in the USA.
In the first 4 years, The Happiness Bug has spread into 219 countries supporting the Charity’s Global Happiness Day thanks to Shelley’s ever-growing team of Happiness Ambassadors. Shelley & son Callum Rory set up the Shelley Sykes Happiness Foundation Charity in Australia & Shelley Sykes Happy Charity Corp with a great team of lawyers, businessmen and women in the USA to help the disadvantaged teens, who need help to Get Syked Up.
