A Humbling Experience

2009 Australian Award
Shelley Sykes has been fundraising for over 20 years to help kids in need of Health, Hope & Happiness.  Mother of a child with CP, Shelley founded the HappyCharity.org, Global Happiness Day & the Global Happiness Leadership Academy in Australia in 2009. Thanks to Dr. Edward de Bono & Happiness Ambassadors, 100% of the funds raised goes to support kids.  Global Happiness Day Events started in the city of Sydney & within 24 months, 195 countries had agreed to support & celebrate Global Happiness Day
Shelley, a British-born Australian, was humbled to be nominated as an Australian Humanitarian. She was invited to Canberra, the capital of Australia to receive her award. She was nominated in 2009 to become Australian of the Year for her philanthropic work, making a difference to the lives of young Australians whilst having fun.

Happy Charity is what is most important!

The most important thing to Shelley is that The Happy Charity & Global Happiness Day gain notoriety so that more children & struggling families can be helped & inspired to turn adversity into their biggest successes. The Happiness Bug began spreading!  As a result, large groups of disadvantaged kids have had the opportunity to swim with wild dolphins, join the Global Happiness Leadership Academy & participate in Happiness Experiences.
